October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and I didn’t want to let it go with out taking a moment to address it.
Mammograms are important, but it’s so much more than that. Self-checks. Having an annual visit with a Gyn and/or a primary care Dr are huge. Staying active, quitting smoking, eating right are others.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation has an EXCELLENT website where you will find tips on how to stay proactive, the best treatment methods, how to help those who have been diagnosed and more. The American Cancer Society has multiple pages dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness as well. Check out these resources to familiarize yourself with the risks and to get the facts.
